Service Standards


Service excellence is a priority for the Social Benefits Tribunal. Our service standards keep us focused on providing our clients with fair, effective, and timely dispute resolution. You can expect the SBT to meet these service standards 80% of the time:

  • A notice of hearing will be sent out no later than 30 calendar days after receipt of the appeal
  • The hearing date will be set no more than180 calendar days after the date on the notice of hearing
  • Decisions will be issued within 30 calendar days, after the completion of the hearing.
