Outside the hearing rooms is a waiting area with seats for the parties and witnesses.
If you are a party to the hearing (an applicant or respondent), you will be shown into the hearing room at the start of the proceedings.
If you are a witness, you must wait in this area until you are required to give your evidence. While you are waiting, you should not discuss the case with anyone else as this may prejudice the proceedings.
A hearing coordinator will meet with you, confirm your mailing address and ask you whether you wish to take a religious oath on a holy book of your choosing or make an affirmation as to the truth of your evidence. The coordinator will then take you to the hearing room and show you where to sit.
