Because of a possible Canada Post strike, the Ontario government has temporarily stopped mailing cheques except in exceptional circumstances to prevent them from being caught in the mail:

About the CICB


The Criminal Injuries Compensation Board (CICB) assesses financial compensation for victims and family members of deceased victims of violent crimes committed in Ontario. The CICB is an adjudicative tribunal created under the Compensation for Victims of Crime Act.

The CICB is one of the eight tribunals that make up Social Justice Tribunals Ontario (SJTO).
